As the Product Manager, you will assume a pivotal role in helping the client develop and execute on their product vision. Your role will involve understanding client’s mission, stakeholder expectations, and user needs and leveraging that knowledge to build software that delivers value for the client and the public. Additionally, you will foster a culture of innovation and excellence within your teams, encouraging the application of design thinking and agile methodologies to drive impactful business value in product design.

Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with federal clients to establish a vision and ensure all members of the Softrams and government teams have a shared understanding of product objectives, goals, and metrics
  • Analyze and understand complex business and engineering challenges, identify solutions to improve products, services and operations.
  • Elicit user needs and designing end-to-end user experience by practical, reliable and efficient solutions.
  • Product Manager should be able to see big picture of an enterprise, connected systems, interfaces, downstream impacts when designing solutions.
  • Collaborate with multiple small teams to design, develop and deliver product features incremental and iterative manner.
  • Lead a team of Product Analysts and Systems Analysts.
  • Drive key ceremonies with client including Roadmap Planning session, Program Increment Planning session, Change Control Board.
  • Create a product strategy and roadmap and develop a communications strategy supporting product goals
  • Identify and proactively monitor and address product risks
  • Work with the team to set and meet quality standards for any product you build
  • Use evidence (user research, analytics, and other metrics) to make product decisions, ask “why” a lot, and recognize the difference between “we can’t do that because of bureaucracy” and “we can’t do that because of the law”
  • Ensure your product complies with federal regulations such as Authority to Operate, the Paperwork Reduction Act, and Section 508
  • Help clients understand how to deliver value, rather than features, to their users
  • Help clients navigate complex bureaucratic relationships to bring stakeholders together around a common product vision and strategy
  • Coach the clients in agileand user-centered principles so they understand the value these practices bring
  • Create and nurture a culture of trust, respect, collaboration, excellence, and innovation across multiple vendors
  • Supervise and mentor product managers and product analysts
  • Promote the application of design thinking and agile methodologies within your teams to enhance product design processes and deliver results that generate significant business value.
  • Required Qualification:

  • Experience in an Agile environment, leading agile sprint teams and using agile collaboration tools (Jira, confluence, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose business problems, and support to come up with product roadmaps and timelines for product implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and business for business operations; demonstrated ability to understand user needs for system and interfaces and come up with requirement documentation. Able to perform end-to-end business process analysis to identify gaps and come up with improvements.
  • Verifiable experience with architecting application, systems or products using agile & iterative practices
  • Must be able to exercise critical and rational thinking to identify alternate solution, strengths & weakness of each options, documenting and discussing them with stakeholders to inform decisions.
  • Must have demonstrated experience in documenting complex technical and business problems in a simple & intuitive manner that others can understand.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering, or related technical field
  • 5 Years related experience in related field
  • 3+ years leading phases of the agile software development life cycle
  • Ability to deliver the right digital product using user-centered and agile-based methodologies
  • Ability to effectively lead a cross-functional team to meet digital project/product objectives
  • Experience overseeing product analysts, product owners, or product managers in a people leadership capacity
  • Experience in a consulting or other client facing role and strong client relationship management skills
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability come up with System designs, architecture, process flows and Concept of Operations for large complex systems
  • Demonstrated experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Knowledge of Healthcare, Medicare and Medicaid systems and data is a plus
  • Public Trust Clearance

  • This role requires the hired candidate to go through public clearance. A minimum of 3 years of stay in the U.S. within the last 5 years is a must to be eligible to qualify for public trust clearance sponsorship.

    Work Location

    We do have great open collaboration physical office spaces in Leesburg VA and Baltimore MD for those of us that may prefer either short term or long-term physical spaces. However, Softrams is a 100% remote first team environment, and

    this role is a 100% remote opportunity within USA. Softrams works in eastern zone and standard work hours are 9 AM ET to 5 PM ET with flexibility around the start and end times based on the teamneeds.
