We are looking for an experienced native iOS engineer who also has experience in frontend web development. This person will primarily contribute to our native iOS app, but also be utilized to help work on various frontend web projects as needs arise. We want someone who is passionate about code quality, software craftsmanship, and creating next-generation healthcare software that improves the lives of patients, clinicians, and caregivers. This person will have the opportunity to make significant product contributions across multiple areas of the business and continue to grow their own skill set.

The ideal candidate has experience leading teams that build native mobile apps for a SaaS company focuses on a regulated industry. In addition to leading key product focus areas, this person will also make code contributions and serve as a mentor to other team members. The Senior Engineer will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to build fantastic native mobile apps from the ground up, using Agile practices/processes and Test/Behavior Driven Development.

Job Location

Tendo has hubs in San Francisco, CA; San Diego, CA; Salt Lake City, UT; Chicago, IL; Nashville, TN; and Philadelphia, PA. Candidates may be located in any one of our hub locations.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, implement, document, test, and debug native iOS applications using Swift.
  • Help with development of React frontend web clients as needs arise.
  • Collaborate with product managers and designers to understand user needs and translate mocks/wireframes into technical requirements, detailed architecture, and code.
  • Mentor other engineers and provide technical leadership.
  • Participate in the team’s development process, including participating in regular pair and mob programming sessions.
  • Perform code reviews and help the team produce maintainable, performant, and secure software.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar major OR equivalent professional experience or software development certification (including bootcamp).
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of iOS development (Swift preferred).
  • 1+ years of frontend web development (React preferred).
  • Strong ability to communicate development approaches and plans within and across teams.
  • Experience with modern version control systems (e.g., Git) and tools (e.g., Bitbucket, GitHub, GitLab).
  • Nice to Have

  • Experience working in a start-up environment.
  • Professional experience with all aspects of deploying a native iOS app to the App Store.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry and HL7 standards like FHIR.
  • Base Salary Range

    $110,500-$149,500

    This salary range is offered with the understanding that final compensation is based on a number of factors including geography and experience. Tendo also offers an equity package, annual bonuses, and benefits.
