Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest.

Are you passionate about software engineering and eager to make a real-world impact? Join us on a journey where your coding skills will shape the future of finance.

  • We're excited to launch this brand new hybrid office program for computer science or related majors. The program will kick off in summer 2024.
  • You will be based out of our office in Warsaw.
  • This first year of this program requires you to work out of the office for three days a week—Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday—to collaborate with your team, early career Affirmers, and your engineering mentor. You'll experience the best of both worlds: the in-office experience and remote work. After the one-year, you can remain hybrid, go remote, or stay in an office.
  • You'll be paired with an engineering mentor who you'll work alongside and meet with weekly.

The Repayment UX Engineering team is growing and looking for a Software Engineer who’s open to specialize in iOS development. We’re a full-stack engineering team located entirely in Europe. We build and own user flows that enable over 15 million consumers to repay loans worth over $20B each year. We continuously innovate to make the flow more user-friendly, more effective, and adapt to the needs of our rapidly expanding business. Our work is agile and fast-paced, shipping new code to production almost every two-week sprint, and rigorously measuring the impact it has on the behavior of our users.

This role requires a high level of openness to professional and personal growth, strong communication skills, and a creative mindset. You’ll have the opportunity to learn from very experienced teammates and collaborators. You’ll put your newly-acquired knowledge to practice in an environment that combines the freedom to experiment and innovate with the responsibility to deliver results. Come join us!

What you’ll do
  • Contribute to building and designing simple software that is easy to deploy and debug, and elegantly deals with any unhappy paths.
  • Gain insight into the design that guides implementation decisions by being part of the design discussions.
  • Partner with other engineers to develop reliable and scalable solutions to a wide range of problems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners like product managers, designers and analysts to deliver an outstanding, high quality experience to our users. The vast majority of people you’ll interact with day to day are located in a compatible timezone.
  • Review others’ work, provide reinforcing and constructive feedback, while learning about the best practices that our high quality standards are based on.
  • Write high-quality code that can be easily understood and leveraged by others.
  • Rigorously test the code we write as a team and support it as part of a sustainable on-call rotation.
  • Take active part in improving our processes, flow of information and work culture.

What we look for
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work / training / open source experience
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to specialize in, the iOS development ecosystem (Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, XCode, Objective C etc.)
  • Humility and self-awareness to understand and navigate the unknown (ambiguous problems, unfamiliar technologies)
  • Prior experience collaborating with a team. Experience leading initiatives is a plus
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in English
