We are seeking a software engineer to join our Airline team at Wisk. Our mission is to revolutionize urban air mobility with the development of fully autonomous, all-electric air taxis. You will be a member of the Airline Software development team responsible for innovations that enable the deployment and scale of autonomous operations, pushing the boundaries of automation in transportation and airline software systems.

Why we need you:

  • As a Wisk software engineer on the air operations team, your mission will be to help develop software requirements, capabilities and systems that enable the operational and logistical workflows necessary for the operation of autonomous air taxis in urban environments. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to scope, build and deploy systems that manage everything from flight scheduling and airworthiness to customer interactions and service automation.
  • What you will do:

  • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications that integrate with our autonomous aerial vehicle
  • Collaborate with systems engineers and industry to understand operational requirements and translate these into functional web applications.
  • Work alongside R&D engineers to define and implement software solutions that enhance operational efficiency and user experience.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to ensure reliability and performance from development through to deployment.
  • Continuously evaluate and incorporate new web technologies and frameworks to stay at the cutting edge of software development.
  • What you have done:

  • Obtained a B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related STEM field, or possess equivalent real-world experience.
  • Accumulated 5+ years of industry experience in full-stack web application development.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in backend languages such as JavaScript (Node.js), Python, or PHP.
  • Experienced with front-end frameworks and technologies to create responsive and intuitive user interfaces.
  • Skilled in developing and consuming APIs for web services, (both restful and websockets).
  • Familiar with modern development tools and practices, including version control (e.g., Git), continuous integration, and project management tools (e.g., JIRA).
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Desired:

  • Experience in the aviation or transportation industry is highly desired, particularly with systems related to flight operations or scheduling.
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and serverless architectures.
  • Knowledge of web security best practices and data protection techniques.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and test-driven development.
  • Compensation and Benefits:

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay Range the Company expects to pay:$143,550 - $165,000per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
