Rackspace is looking for a leader to lead the Microsoft technology vision for the Platform and Application service line for Public Cloud business. This role would be guiding a team of talented architects in leading the technical vision and technical delivery for entire platform and application service line focused on Microsoft Technologies. This role would be responsible for Highest point of escalation for all Technical Issues, Customer Management on Technical delivery, Establish Relationship with Technology counterparts from the customer side for top 50 customers, Mentor – l4/l5/Architects, Create Assets and processes from Technology perspective e.g., Runbook, SOP, KB etc., Decide tool strategy and implement it and, Innovation and Thought leadership.

The Principal Architect would be the Technology Face for Microsoft Technologies

Key Responsibilities

  • Build the Microsoft technology vision for platform and application Service Line for Public Cloud
  • Work with customer and analysts to continuously update Rackspace technical positioning and remaining ahead of the curve for Microsoft Technologies.
  • Lead the team to build assets and process to deliver engagement in a consistent manner.
  • Create tool and automation strategy for Microsoft Platform.
  • Responsible for identifying and developing joint technical solutions with Microsoft.
  • Responsible for running the Technical Quality Assurance function for all Presales and Post Sales Engagements for Microsoft.
  • Responsible for delivery quality of complex Microsoft engagements.
  • Establish relationship with technical stakeholders of customer organizations.
  • Representing Rackspace in Microsoft technical forums and events.
  • Lead large and strategic pursuits using cutting edge technology.
  • Responsible for creating repository of reusable assets for delivery.
  • Create pricing and effort benchmarks over a period.
  • Ensures standard processes and tools are used across teams for delivering Microsoft Engagements.
  • Create Improvement plans and drive higher efficiencies.
  • Collaborates with other teams to evaluate projects for technical feasibility and reasonableness.
  • Defines and distributes team goals. Ensures team operates within a defined set of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Reviews team documentation to identify trends, risks, and actions requiring intervention or escalation.
  • Ensures timely resolution of escalated problems.
  • Ensures effective communication between direct reports and other functional units.
  • Coaches and develops the community of technical architects.
  • Creates weekly and monthly reports on delivery status and updates leadership.
  • Experience

  • 15 years of experience as Microsoft Enterprise architecture – Must
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Azure, Paas and SaaS services
  • 10 years + leading Technology Office/COE, Solution Architect Team (20+) in Hyperscaler, large Consulting and Services organizations ($5B+) - Must
  • 10+ years of experience in solutioning Platform, Infra, Cloud services – Must
  • Experience in Applications would be a plus.
  • 10+ years experience as Solution Architect in top Consulting or Services organization
  • Strong technical knowledge in both professional and managed services - Must
  • Excellent understanding of Public Cloud services across Microsoft Platform
  • Good business acumen
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent creative problem-solving abilities, coupled with a desire to take on responsibility.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills: verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation.
  • Excellent time management, decision-making, and organization skills.
  • Ability to develop and communicate individual goals and executable tasks based on functional and strategic goals and objectives.
  • Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or computer Science; may also have post-graduate education or training.
  • Certifications

  • AWS, Azure, GCP Certifications
  • TOGAF or any other Enterprise Architect Certifications
  • PMP or Prince 2 would be plus.

    The anticipated startingpayrangeofColoradoand New York Cityapplicantsforthis role is$ 187,200 - $ 299,300 for COand$ 198,500 - $ 317,300 for NYC.

    Based on eligibility, compensation for the role may include variable compensation in the form of bonus, commissions, or other discretionary payments.

    These discretionary payments are based on company and/or individual performance, and may change at any time.

    Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience,licenses and certifications,and specific work location.
