We’re looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to support our customer and join our passionate team of high-impact problem solvers. 

About the role:

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will support a software factory platform using agile development practices. You will leverage GitOps processes to deploy a DevSecOps platform for different developer teams to push their software into production within the federal sector. Our framework will leverage open source and Cloud Native Computing Foundation Kubernetes framework to provide a lightweight, vendor agnostic system.

What we are looking for:

  • 5+ years of overall hands-on experience in working with AWS 
  • Ability to build, install, configure, STIG, test and deploy infrastructure, platform components and applications as new requirements arise across classification fabrics.
  • Configure, deploy, improve, and administer cloud-based resources and cloud native resources, specifically AWS GovCloud.
  • Perform routine systems administration, monitoring, and maintenance (e.g., version upgrades, patching, account management, routine troubleshooting) on cloud-based instances.
  • Administer access control and identity and access management policies and best practices to ensure the security and integrity of the system, platforms, and its components.
  • Support the implementation and operational support of new technologies as they arise to include Cross Domain Solutions.
  • The ability to leverage DevSecOps Reference Design compliant tools and technologies such as Kubernetes in supporting UP mission objectives and system operational requirements.
  • Ability to leverage computer programing languages such as Python, Bash, SQL, Java, etc.
  • Develop and deploy scripts (Terraform, Helm, Python, etc.) on a routine basis to support platform and customer requirements with a focus towards automation as much as practicable.
  • Architect, develop and implement end-to-end cluster and application lifecycles. 
  • Work with clients architecting, developing, and implementing Kubernetes solutions both in the Cloud and on-premises. 
  • Design and integrate a modern Kubernetes based platform using GitOps principles for DoD Software Factories. 
  • Be an active member in in daily scrum meetings, bi-weekly sprint planning, and quarterly milestone planning, and as-needed pairing sessions. 
  • Experience with core AWS services, e.g DNS, Route53, ASG, RDS, S3, EC2, VPC, MSK, SQS, SNS, ECR, ElastiCache etc. 
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, e.g Terraform, Ansible 
  • Worked with infrastructure architecture and cloud migration 
  • Has integrated Twistlock, Sonarqube, Static-code-analysis 
  • Experience with database management e.g., MySQL, MongoDB, Postgres, or Oracle
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent technical degree/ industry experience
  • Active Security+ Certificate 

Highly preferred:

  • Experience with Platform One’s Big Bang Tech Stack
  • Hands-on with Docker and Kubernetes 
  • Certified AWS Solutions Architect Professional or DevOps Engineer Professional 
  • Knowledge of SRE principals 
  • DoD experience - knowledge of DISA STIG compliance requirements, FIPS policies
  • Local to San Antonio, TX

Clearance Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
