Duties & Responsibilities :
Manage Windows OS-based computer devices through Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, registry and files system security as needed.
Provide escalated technical support for a complex AD and Windows Server environment.
Manage servers from multiple data centers, including repeated DR fail-over exercises.
Collaborate with other technology teams and vendors to ensure Petco’s Microsoft infrastructure has the appropriate capacity and business continuity plans in place
Perform on-call duties in an escalated rotation for production applications and DR initiatives.
Manage internal and external DNS.
Maintain CMDB of servers and applications.
Configure and maintain monitoring for Microsoft infrastructure.
Engages in large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects by reviewing project requirements; translating requirements into technical solutions; directing and reviewing design artifacts (for example, proof of concepts, prototypes); writing and developing code; overseeing software design; reviewing unit test cases; communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders; directing project team and cross functional teams; enhancing design to prevent re-occurrences of defects; ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs; interacting with project manager to provide input on project plan and providing leadership to the project team.
Conducts software and hardware requirements reviews, preliminary and critical design reviews, and software acceptance reviews.
Ensures objectives are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Heavily participates in the work of cross-functional groups to deliver assigned Engineering projects by providing pertinent documents, direction, and examples; identifying short and long term solutions and timeline; reviewing and approving proposed solutions; implementing new architectural patterns; and performing design and code reviews of changes.
Directs root cause analysis of critical business and production issues by reviewing and analyzing information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause); directing actions as designated in the plan; interpreting the results to determine further action; directing root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues; and reviewing and approving online documentation.
Supports business objectives by collaborating with business partners to identify opportunities and drive resolution; partnering with business to define priorities; identifying short- and long-term solutions; and leading cross-functional partnership

Minimum Qualifications :
Experience directly related to managing production Windows systems.
Large enterprise experience.
Expert level knowledge of Active Directory OU design and management, AD Site design, Group Policy, AD security, AD certificate services, LDAP, Global Catalog, DFS, FRS, and AD troubleshooting.
Advanced Powershell /Python experience.
Automation/IaaC experience including hardened image creation and deployment.
Extensive knowledge of network technologies at each layer of the OSI Model, and related tools.
Experience with ServiceNow for ticketing and CMDB.
Experience with Jira and Confluence.
Knowledge and ability to manage DNS via Infoblox internally as well as external DNS providers.
Experience with managing systems running via virtualization a plus.
Azure experience.
MEM/Intune/SCCM experience a plus.
Windows Server Patching.
Windows DSC experience a plus.
