As we continue to expand our market presence and scale our operations, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee our Order to Cash and Commissions processes.

POSITION SUMMARY 

The Accounting Manager - Order to Cash and Commissions will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our revenue recognition, order processing, and commissions accounting functions. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills, deep understanding of accounting principles, and proven experience in overseeing complex financial processes within a publicly traded company environment. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Finance, Legal, and Operations to ensure accurate and timely accounting of revenue and commissions, compliance with regulatory requirements, and implementation of best practices.

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

1. Revenue Recognition 

  • Oversee the end-to-end process of revenue recognition, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Review and analyze customer contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Legal teams to structure deals in accordance with accounting policies and guidelines.
  • Prepare and review revenue-related journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.

2. Order Processing 

  • Manage the order to cash cycle, including order entry, invoicing, billing, and collections processes.
  • Develop and maintain efficient procedures and controls to mitigate risks and improve operational effectiveness.
  • Work closely with Sales Operations to streamline order processing workflows and enhance system integration.

3. Commissions Accounting 

  • Oversee the calculation, accrual, and payment of sales commissions in accordance with established plans and policies.
  • Partner with Sales leadership to ensure accuracy and transparency in commission calculations.
  • Prepare commission expense forecasts and provide insights to Finance leadership on commission-related matters.

4. Financial Reporting and Analysis

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures related to revenue recognition and commissions.
  • Provide variance analysis and explanations for revenue and commissions-related accounts.
  • Support internal and external audit processes, including the provision of documentation and explanations as needed.

5. Process Improvement and Compliance 

  • Continuously assess and enhance accounting processes, controls, and systems to support scalability and efficiency.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices related to revenue recognition and commissions.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX requirements and assist in related audits and testing.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED 
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with a focus on revenue recognition, order to cash, and commissions accounting.
  • Strong understanding of ASC 606 and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Experience working in a publicly traded company environment is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and integrity.
