Who We Are Looking For

 

We seek a skilled and passionate Senior Data Analyst to join our dedicated team in developing and refining data-informed approaches to drive player strategy and game development for an emerging IP in the  2K portfolio. 

The ideal candidate demonstrates a deep understanding of game telemetry, adeptly applying this knowledge in game development and overarching business objectives. They must understand the fundamental framework of game telemetry pipelines, spanning from origin to destination. This expertise will be crucial as they will collaborate closely with cross-disciplinary teams, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data as it traverses through the data pipeline. Additionally, the right candidate will feel comfortable developing new metrics and crafting automated reports through the utilization of various analytical tools and techniques, all tailored to address the unique needs of our studio and publishing partners. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive problem-solving approach and exhibit highly effective cross-disciplinary communication skills.

What You Will Do
  • Partner with Data Architects, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Game Designers, and Producers to contribute to the telemetry implementation process that aligns with game development needs and broader business objectives.
  • Partner with Data Ops to craft documentation around payload structures with descriptions of each data point, expected values, and any considerations for implementation.
  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of data as it moves from design to implementation and throughout the different stages of the data pipeline.
  • Support our QA studio in monitoring bug fixes when they arise and facilitate resolutions.
  • Provide definitions for metrics and create aggregations used for reporting and analysis. 
  • Analytical tools such as Snowsight or Tableau are used to create automated reports tracking performance trends and strategic insights.
  • Mentor and support junior-level Data Analysts on the team.
What We Think Will Be An Excellent Fit
  • 3-5 years of experience as an Analyst with a focus on product development.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to monitor data accuracy and reliability throughout the various phases of the data pipeline. 
  • Experience using analytical, quantitative, and business judgment skills to maximize the utilization of game telemetry to inform product strategy.
  • Strong expertise in relational databases, SQL (experience with Snowflake & Rockset preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with Python and familiarity with data analysis libraries, such as Pandas, NumPy, and Plotly.
  • Strong data storytelling skills and visualization experience (Tableau or Snowsight preferred).
  • Experience with project management and communication tools such as Asana, Confluence, JIRA, and Slack
  • 5+ years of video games industry experience with a strong understanding of game design fundamentals. Experience with designing game telemetry is a plus.
  • Excellent collaborator with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships both within the team and with cross-functional partners
  • Independent problem solver who takes initiative and approaches problem-solving with an innovative mentality, focusing on scalable solutions.

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $100,000 and $155,000 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
