What you’ll do

In a few words…

Abarca is igniting a revolution in healthcare.  We built our company on the belief that with smarter technology we are redefining pharmacy benefits, but this is just the beginning…

As a DevOps Manager, you’ll have direct management of DevOps engineers, strategic planning, product definition, managing operational challenges at scale, project management for software within the team, and quality of the software development process in an agile environment. You will also be responsible for collaborating with Software Engineers in devising appropriate coding strategies and configure settings to ensure the highest standards in the deployment of our systems to all different environments. You will lead a team of DevOps Engineers that automate, build, maintain, troubleshoot, and streamline all deployment operations and process tools for software applications built and maintained by our Software Engineers. You’ll collaborate with developers to ensure success of the environment configurations, settings, and definitions. You will assist in breaking down code and configuring definitions made for automated releases and deployments within our company.

The fundamentals for the job…

  • Lead and mentor a team of DevOps Engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture and IT Ops to drive strategic initiatives and champion a cloud-first approach.
  • Collaborate with Agile Team members (Software, Quality and Automation Engineers, Product Owners, and Product Delivery experts) to establish and/or follow organizational best practices for product delivery.
  • Responsible for implementing reusable components, translating technical requirements, assisting with all stages of data orchestration, and performing script maintenance and updates.
  • Build an automated deployment framework using configuration management technologies while creating requirements and procedures for implementing routine maintenance.
  • Enhance CI/CD pipelines to support new deployment targets, environment, and architectures.
  • Deliver configurable pipelines and YAML templates to support self-service and automation for consistency and reliability.
  • Coordinate with ADO Governance committee to deliver agile best practices and participate in metrics alignment and gathering.
  • Collaborate with Software Engineering and Product leads to define, prioritize, and manage team backlog – providing operational metrics and on-time delivery of new capabilities and support operations.
  • Participate in the process of strategic project planning meetings and provide guidance and expertise on system options, risk, impact, and costs vs benefits.
  • Troubleshoot existing information systems for errors and resolve those errors related directly to environment configurations and definitions within our Development, Testing and Production environments.
  • Structure our Software Configuration Management System for deployments, monitor environment stability and scale issues to Infrastructure when servers are not behaving as expected.

What we expect of you

The bold requirements…

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Technology, or related field (In lieu of a degree, equivalent relevant experience may be considered).
  • 8+ years of related experience with DevOps Production Operations and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience leading, coaching, supporting, and supervising a team.
  • Expertise in managing repositories and pipelines using Azure DevOps
  • Experience in High-Availability Environments for SaaS or cloud service providers such as Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Experience with container technologies and orchestration such as Docker or Kubernetes
