About Framework

At Framework, we believe the time has come for products that are designed to last. Founded in San Francisco in 2019, our mission is to remake Consumer Electronics to respect people and the planet.

Our first product is the Framework Laptop, a thin, light, high-performance notebook that can be upgraded, customized, and repaired in ways that no other notebook can. Alongside this, we've launched the Framework Marketplace to enable an ecosystem of parts and modules. We've seen a fantastic reception to our first product from customers and reviewers from outlets like Linus Tech Tips, Ars Technica, and Wirecutter, along with landing on the cover of TIME's Best Inventions of 2021. As a company, we made #35 on Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies of 2022.

We come from successful consumer electronics startups including the founding team of Oculus, and we recently closed an $18M Series A fundraising round to fuel our roadmap. The Position

Join the Framework team as a skilled copywriter on a freelance or part-time contractor basis, and play a crucial role in defining the voice of our innovative products. We create repairable, upgradeable, and customizable laptops and we need your expertise to capture and convey their unique qualities. This role entails crafting a variety of content, including detailed product descriptions, compelling blog articles, informative emails, and dynamic YouTube scripts. Candidates must have expertise adapting writing to various audience groups, technical knowledge levels, and platforms. The ideal candidate has experience writing about consumer electronics products.

This is a part-time contract or freelance position based remotely.

Responsibilities

Craft engaging and informative product descriptions for the Framework website, ensuring all technical specifications are accurate

Develop content for digital marketing efforts including email, newsletters, blog posts, and social media content

Optimize content for search engines to increase visibility and drive traffic to the website

Work with content creator to write scripts for long form social media content

Design and write copy for online ad campaigns, ensuring they align with the brand's voice and marketing objectives.

Develop and maintain consistent brand voice and tone across all platforms

Work closely with the design and marketing teams to ensure that copy complements visuals and all marketing materials are strategically aligned

Edit and proofread all copy to ensure it is free of errors, adheres to the company's style guide, and effectively communicates the intended message

Expertly manage time and priorities while communicating throughout the process

Requirements

Proven experience in copywriting, content creation, or a similar role

Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of writing styles and projects

Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation

SEO proficiency with an understanding of how to incorporate keywords into content to improve search engine rankings

Technical aptitude to understand and write about consumer electronics products accurately and familiarity conveying technical topics to non-technical audiences

Attention to detail for editing and proofreading own work

Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including marketing, design, and product development

Excellent communication skills

Flexibility and adaptability to adjust writing style based on the project needs or audience
