Mountaintop is a new game studio creating multiplayer games for players that crave a challenge. We’re an independent, remote-first studio primarily located in the US and Canada.

We’re creating the types of games that bring people together — and keep them together for “just one more round.” The types of games that inspired us as kids. The games that become our hobbies, and sometimes our obsessions.

THE ROLE

We’re looking for an Animator who’s passionate about building extraordinary new experiences that inspire others. Animators play a crucial role in bringing our characters, weapons, and equipment to life, you’ll play an incredibly important role in launching our first title.

YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Developing and crafting high-quality viewmodel gameplay animations that deliver fantastic player experiences

Working closely with designers and engineers on opportunities for animation to enhance gameplay

Collaborating with the Lead Animator and Technical Artists to problem solve animation and pipeline issues

Integrating animations into the game engine

Following animation best practices that ensure consistently excellent results

Contributing to game features as part of cross-disciplinary team

Contributing to a team culture that prides itself on excellence, innovation, trust, and respect

ABOUT YOU

Strong demo reel showcasing mastery over viewmodel animation

Demonstrable keyframe animation skill set and ability to animate in a realistic style

Great understanding of body mechanics and animation fundamentals

A love for playing and making amazing games

A passion for outstanding gameplay animation

Experience working with Unreal Engine 4 & Maya or similar 3D software

Previous AAA game development experience

An eagerness to contribute to many different areas of development

Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-discipline

SALARY RANGE

The estimated salary range for this role is $78,000 - 115,000 USD plus equity.

Individual salary and equity packages are determined based on location, level, relevant education, training, qualifications, and/ or experience.
