This will be a part-time, remote contract opportunity. This is a paid engagement, currently budgeted at $40-$60/hr, depending on skills and past experience.

🟢 The Opportunity

Springboard is launching an 11-week immersive online learning experience that provides non-technical front-line workers with the tools, mindset, and confidence to make more effective and impactful decisions, mitigate risk, and communicate those decisions to various stakeholders. The students will be comprised of frontline, hourly workers from leading retail, finance, hospitality, manufacturing, and e-commerce companies. This course is paid for by their employers.

Our course end goals are as follows:

Apply a problem-solving approach to address real-life challenges effectively in personal and professional contexts.

Use influential communication frameworks to express ideas clearly and persuade effectively in diverse settings.

Exhibit flexibility in decision-making and communication by adjusting approaches based on evolving circumstances, feedback, and new information.

We are looking for a subject matter expert (SME) who will help guide the vision and learning experience for this course. Ideally, this candidate:

Has strong experience training frontline workers, either in-person or online

Believes in the importance of soft skills

Has experience creating teaching/training content

Timeline/Availability:

Course creation: starting early April for a duration of 8-10 weeks. We estimate a workload of roughly 5-10 hours per week and ask that you be available to work a few of those hours synchronously during EST hours on weekdays.

🟢 Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with an instructional designer to review existing material, build new components of the curriculum, and synthesize all content and exercises into a cohesive whole
  • Reviewing learning objectives, projects, assessments, and overall course structure
  • Designing, writing, recording, and building course content, exercises, and live lessons
  • Helping write scripts for custom video resources
  • Curating high-quality resources (videos, articles)
  • Writing descriptions that summarize and explain the importance of each topic covered in the course
  • Creating rubrics for graders to evaluate student work
  • 🟢 You have:

  • In-depth knowledge of front-line work, and common challenges front-line workers might face in the US
  • A minimum of 3+ years of overall front-line work professional development and/or training experience
  • Experience building learning experiences or training for front-line workers (preferred)
  • Has previously worked entry-level frontline jobs (preferred)
  • Experience building training material and instructing others (preferred)
  • Experience coaching
  • A clear point of view on what skills are needed to improve frontline decision-making and communication skills
  • Proven ability to write clear training materials and instructions
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines across a multi-month project
