Lead Software Engineer, Clinical Trial Financial Management

We are launching a software solution that streamlines clinical trial financial management workflows by addressing core operational and administrative frictions to reduce sponsor costs and trial delays. Clinical trial financial management workflows largely rely on a combination of paper records, disparate spreadsheets and primitive software. This underpins the largely manual processes, fragmented/siloed data and lack of insights, which force sponsors to be reactive rather than proactive, contributing to avoidable trial delays and increased costs. Targeting the root cause of much of the inefficiency that exists today, StealthCo (Clinical Trial Finance Mgmt) is a planning and analytics platform built specifically for clinical trial sponsors and clinical research organizations.

As our

of our StealthCo, you will work with our Head of Product and external engineering partners to design, develop, test, deploy, and iterate on our core tech stack to deliver a world class experience and tech platform. Your work will create efficiencies in the administrative and financial workflows of clinical research leading to accelerated drug development timelines. We estimate that the initial addressable market is $2.5B+ with expansion opportunities based on add-on and tangential products!

At StealthCo, your scope will cover the entire tech stack. You will deploy and maintain cloud based architectures, lead security reviews and integrations, and support the launch of a new SaaS-based B2B enterprise product to be used by life sciences companies and clinical research organizations to streamline administrative and financial processes leading to greater efficiencies including faster and less costly clinical studies. You will also recruit and build out an agile development team.

You will report to, and work with, the stealth venture’s CEO. The CEO is based in Austin, Texas, but the position can be fully remote within the United States.

What you’ll do:

• You will lead the development and implementation of new products and product features including the delivering reliable and compliant software

• Own the development of our tech stack, making build-vs-buy decisions and architectural improvements as we scale

• Partner with Product and Design to discover new Product opportunities, create experiments through rapid prototypes and AB tests, and learn and iterate quickly

• Be the internal lead resource for the Engineering vendors with the opportunity to mentor internal Software Engineers as the team grows

• Wear many hats as a Lead Engineer acting as an individual contributor, mentor, collaborator and innovator

What you’ll need:

• 5+ years of full-stack software development experience building mobile & web applications, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a 0-1 product environment

  • 2+ years with Javascript / ReactJS or equivalent front end technologies to build responsive web applications

  • 3+ years with several backend programming languages and multi-threaded programming (Java, Django, Node.js, or Scala)

• 2+ years building financial management solutions or 2+ years of experience building digital health solutions with connectivity to finance and accounting tools

• Successful track record of delivering and maintaining reliable, scalable, traceable and performant distributed systems to customers in a production cloud environment

• Experience with Agile development decomposing complex problem statements and experience collaborating with internal and external Engineering teams supporting the build

What you’ll bring to the table:

• You have a strong communication style with both technical and non-technical team members

• You have technical hands-to-keyboard coding experience with modern frontend and backend technologies (React.js, TypeScript, Python, Go,etc)

• You have technical ability with system design & architecture in a 0 to 1 environment

Full-time base salary range of $135,000 - $165,000 plus equity.
