The Creative Director at Webstacks is a pivotal role responsible for managing and expanding the creative endeavors with the internal Webstacks team and high-value clients. You will oversee all creative works of our clients, work towards improving the output of our team, and deliver on client needs by collaborating with both our creative and development teams to provide top-notch solutions. You aim to ensure not only client satisfactions, but the creative dreams that our internal and external teams strive to create.

The Creative work that comes out of Webstacks must be unique, original, and be of the highest quality. You will be responsible for the vision and execution of leveling up brand experiences for a multitude of clients, as well as leveling up the designers on our team. Our goal is to make the most inspirational sites in the brands that we touch, and we would rely on you to help make these dreams a reality.

  • Location: San Diego, CA - Hybrid Schedule
  • Salary: $110,000-$120,000/yr
High-Level Responsibilities
  • Accountable for the creative quality and output of all projects that come out of the Webstacks Design team
  • Provide creative direction + vision to all redesign projects
  • Developing and communicating the creative direction and vision for website redesign projects
  • Collaborate with junior + senior designers to guide and mentor them in the design process
  • Lead brainstorming sessions and provide innovative ideas and concepts for website redesigns
  • Ensure that all design deliverables adhere to brand guidelines and project requirements
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their objectives and incorporate their feedback into the design process
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in web design
  • Rapid advancement of the designers on your team - we care about the growth of the team members under your guidance
  • Exemplary attention to detail - no stone is unturned with your designs, and everything is technically perfect
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Creative Director or a similar role
  • Strong portfolio showcasing successful website redesign projects
  • Proficient in design software and tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Figma
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet project deadlines
  • Preferred Agency Experience

  • You are responsible for the creative output for the entire design team, and will have to provide effective feedback and teach designers how to get to the next level.
  • The responsibility of managing brands and creative with high-value clients can be pressurized. Ensuring client and audience satisfaction requires consistent performance under tight deadlines.
  • You will often be faced with complex issues that require quick thinking and innovative solutions. The fast-paced nature of the tech industry can mean rapid changes in client needs and expectations.
  • Expectations from tech-industry clients are high. They may demand quick turnarounds, bespoke solutions, and round-the-clock availability, which can be challenging to manage alongside other accounts.
  • The tech industry evolves at a breakneck pace. Keeping up with the latest trends, technologies, and industry shifts is essential but can be overwhelming.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships requires emotional intelligence and stamina, as you'll need to manage not just the successes but also the disappointments and frustrations that come with any business relationship.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring that the end-state result of the developed designs are up to the standards you have made.
  • At times, you will receive inconsistent feedback from multiple stakeholders and clients. It is your responsibility to effectively explain and showcase solutions to this feedback.
