We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Product to lead our talented Product team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting the product roadmap and ensuring strategic alignment across features and functionality. They bring an entrepreneurial spirit to their role and combine their technology background with an in-depth understanding of the product, competitors, and market to delight customers and advance the company's mission of using technology to drive solutions to homelessness.

This role is a skilled communicator who is accountable to a diverse constituency. They gather, analyze, and prioritize product requirements, making well-researched, data-driven recommendations that align with long-term goals. Working closely with the VP of Strategy and internal and external stakeholders, this role creates and advocates for a roadmap that reinforces the company's overall strategy, minimizes risk, and capitalizes on opportunities.

To enhance the product development process, this role also leads the product team and works with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient execution of the roadmap. They foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement, encouraging team members to bring their unique perspectives to the table.

Compensation: 

We are committed to providing competitive pay and benefits that are in line with industry standards. We analyze and carefully consider several factors when determining compensation, including skills, qualifications, and professional experience, which can cause your compensation to vary. This role has an annual targeted total compensation range of $120,000 - $180,000, which includes variable compensation (bonus) eligibility.

About the Product Team:

The Product team operates at the confluence of the customer, owner, and engineering. Our goal is to facilitate data-driven software that makes a meaningful impact on our customers. We strive for excellence and are empowered to create a collaborative, transparent, and fun working environment. 

The Product team at Bitfocus is responsible for defining, developing, and bringing our software products to market. Our team is cross-functional and involves close collaboration with various teams, including Engineering, Marketing, Business Development, Professional Services, Community Administration, Customer Success, and others. 

Essential Job Functions:
  • Roadmap: Lead the development and maintenance of the product roadmap, balancing short-term deliverables with long-term strategic goals. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, design, and marketing, to execute the roadmap effectively.
  • Analysis: Utilize data and analytics to make informed product decisions, continuously monitoring product performance and user engagement metrics. The Head of Product develops the methods and means to solicit, collect, analyze, and respond to qualitative and quantitative data about the product, its customers, and the broader HMIS market.
  • HMIS Evangelist: Being a product advocate and HMIS evangelist who champions the long-term vision for Clarity Human Services and its related tools and passionately advocates for the role a well-functioning HMIS plays in the coordinated, community-level response required to end homelessness.
  • Compliance: Ensuring Clarity Human Services and related tools meet its regulatory, privacy, and security obligations by working with the Compliance Manager, Privacy Officer, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Coordinating and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders for requirement gathering and impact analysis, determining viable SOW projects, and working with the Product team to ensure viability and timelines align with development initiatives. The Head of Product facilitates discussions and workshops with internal and external teams to build consensus and align around clearly defined business objectives and product direction.
What you bring:
  • Proven leadership experience in SaaS product development using Agile software development methodology.
  • Experience with highly regulated systems such as Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), Electronic Health Record (EHR), or similar systems.
  • Experience in SaaS product, customer, and market research.
  • Experience in using user feedback and product analytics tools and methodology, including UserVoice, HubSpot, and Google Analytics.
  • Experience in data-driven decision-making roles such as Business Intelligence Analyst, UX Strategist, Analytics Specialist, Quantitative Analyst, etc.
  • Experience in strategic planning and facilitating decision-making, including direct engagement with internal and external stakeholders, including current and prospective customers.
  • Experience in information security, data privacy, and regulatory compliance, including maintaining compliance with major federal and state regulatory requirements, such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

  • Project Management: You will oversee the planning, scoping, estimating, and prioritization of complex projects. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop project plans, define project deliverables, and establish project timelines and milestones.
