The Director, Resource Management, reporting to the Vice President of Services Operations and will work with the leadership team to set a clear and ambitious vision while thinking holistically about the positive impact for the greater company.

The Director of Resource Management will support the company’s growing Services organization focused on Resource Management, deployment, enablement and support, and Vendor management and other various aspects of Optiv’s subcontractor ecosystem.

In this role, you will actively contribute to improving operational and resource alignment efficiency across major projects across the full spectrum of professional services through comprehensive visibility into the pipeline of opportunities, availability of applicable resources, detailed schedule and oversight of the overall schedule, and the ability to work with customers, sales and external parties as necessary to ensure effective and meaningful resourcing of complex engagements.

Operating under the Operations organization, the Director will manage, grow and facilitate all areas of Optiv’s Resource Management Lifecycle. This position is key to ensuring that the team is providing seamless Resource Management best practices and secondary offerings, to the services organization and Optiv clients. Focused toward in time resourcing, maximizing revenue, utilization and employee engagement. Driving the growth and maturity of a medium sized global team (10-15 employees) and a strategic partner to neighboring teams in, Operations, Services, Sales, Legal, IT, HR and PMO that drive continuous improvements, across those lines of business.

The ideal candidate is a hardworking and highly organized professional, who has solid skills and experience in Resource Planning and Project Management. The Resource Director must have strong communication skills and must feel comfortable working with all levels of the organization.

How you'll make an impact

  • The objective is to standardize the approach across multiple service areas, increasing visibility into global pipeline to align capabilities and availability, assist and drive assessing skills and certs against market trends and customer demands, promote people & career development and the opportunity to provide cross practice security services / solutions to our clients.
  • OTHER DUTIES:

  • Capacity planning: Plan, allocate and direct the allocation of Optiv Professional resources on all services projects to meet project requirements
  • Forecast supply and demand for given skills profiles
  • Drive the resource management processes to optimize the utilization while maximizing the customer satisfaction
  • Understand and act on Pipeline/Forecasting reporting and governance
  • Identify risk areas i. e. supply/demand, over/under staffed, shortage of a specific skill etc. and review these with internal stakeholders
  • Work with Consultant Manager to coordinate on-boarding new consultants to ensure a successful ramp up period
  • Collaborate across different functional groups within Optiv and broader support organizations (ie, IT, Finance, Legal, Services, etc.)
  • Help to manage Professional Services Automation (PSA) system including:
  • Booking approvals i. e., approval for resource requests on projects
  • Track Consultant skills profiles and maintenance
  • Maintain and report on data across multiple systems using PowerBI
  • Weekly resource reporting future bookings, availability (bench) reporting, variance reports, and other metrics as required
  • Actively participate in on-going process improvement discussions and activities
  • Monitoring day-to-day activities of RMO team and corresponding resourcing
  • Overcoming resource shortages by means of resource management techniques, reallocating resources, assigning more staff, etc; informing senior management of any issues related to inability to meet clients’ needs due to resourcing
  • Design and maintain weekly, monthly and quarterly staffing dashboards
  • Providing project managers with support when it comes to resource management issues or improving resource management processes
  • Liaise with external partners to build up skills & certification requirements against trends in the market.
  • Lead and enhance the Vendor Resource Management team to ensure we have adequate vendor portfolio structure, mature frameworks and standards, quality third party services and equitable pricing.
  • Management of our vendors; relations, contractual negotiations, compliance, vendor SLAs.
  • Lead process with internal stakeholders to establish RMO Scorecards and Maturity Model to agree on KPIs and measure performance
  • Understand and influence performance to achieve leverage and pricing goals
  • Expert knowledge of practice groups
  • Quickly recognize and act upon business trends on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
  • Diagnose problems and identify and drive appropriate solutions, striking the right balance between speed/flexibility and process consistency

  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct responsibility for two managers and supervisory support for their organizations.
  • What we're looking for

  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree
  • RMCP preferred
  • 10+ years leading diverse teams, specifically resource management/vendor management teams
  • 5+ years relevant work experience in a Resource Management environment
  • Experience with and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
  • Previous experience as a project/resource/HR manager or in the related industry
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications including PowerBI.
  • Salesforce experience a plus
  • PSA experience a plus
  • Assertive conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills
  • Clear and concise communication in both written and verbal form
  • Ability to be diplomatic or firm when necessary in order to drive business forward or obtain results
  • Highly detail oriented and able to work autonomously
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines with confidence and ease
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload across multiple groups
