About This Role

This is a temporary position to support Climate Power’s work through the election cycle. It is expected that this role will end November 30, 2024.

Climate Power has an immediate opening for a Digital Associate to help drive the organization’s digital strategy around the importance of climate and clean energy investments, sell the benefits of climate action in key communities, and block efforts to dismantle climate progress. The Digital Associate is a member of the Digital team reporting to the Deputy Managing Director and will support daily operations and tasks, including across all program verticals.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist in internal and external communications, including but not limited to drafting outbound content, contributing to and coordinating planning documents, representing the digital team in cross-team conversations, and keeping the team up-to-speed on administrative tasks.
  • Fill a digital strategic imperative by suggesting ideas, providing quality assurance checks, taking detailed notes to set priorities, and coordinating across mobilization, digital communications, and digital engagement efforts.
  • Analyze and synthesize performance metrics and other information into memos, spreadsheets, or other reports for internal and external consumption.
  • Manage scheduling for the managing director and deputy managing director on the digital team.
  • Own and update the digital team calendar of activities and contribute to the organization’s internal planning calendar to ensure we stay on track across many simultaneous digital efforts.
  • Manage schedules and agenda-setting for the digital team and contribute digital slides, notes, and more to cross-team meetings, with the guidance of the deputy managing director, including providing planning and logistical support.
  • Process administrative forms and other tasks as assigned, including assisting with timesheet tracking, updating reporting, and other documents as needed.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as need and capacity dictate.

    Essential Qualifications

  • 1 year of relevant prior work experience in digital, communications, electoral, or administrative work. Climate issue advocacy, electoral, and press/media experience are a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in short-form communications.
  • An interest in learning how messages move and influence people online.
  • Experience in or an interest in learning digital analytics and performance metrics is a plus.

    Location & Hours of Operations

  • Climate Power is a remote-first organization based in Washington, DC. This position can be located anywhere in the United States, but must be able to work Monday - Friday, 9 am - 6 pm EST, plus weekends and evenings as the work dictates.

    Our Hiring Timeline and Process

    We are accepting applications on a rolling basis and will continue to interview until the position is filled (posting will remain up until the position is filled).

    An ideal start date would be on or before

    May 28, 2024. This is a temporary position and is expected to run through November 30, 2024.

    Our interview process will involve 3 rounds of interviews, ranging in length from 30-60 minutes. All interviews will be conducted via Google Meets or Zoom. Successful candidates who move forward in the hiring process will be invited to complete a skills assessment activity (for which they will receive compensation) and undergo a vetting process, including reference and background checks, to ensure cultural and political alignment.
