About the Role

As the Controller, of Accounting and Reporting you’ll own the core Accounting Procedures, Policies, and External Reporting for DriveWealth entities and report to the Principal Accounting Officer.  You will work closely with the unit's Business, Operations, and Technology teams on key business projects. You will focus on the Finance team’s accounting infrastructure and partnering with key business units across the organization. You will ensure the unit is equipped to scale and provide expertise and guidance to support DriveWealth’s growth strategy.

What You'll Do

  • Implement and manage the accounting policies, procedures, operations
  • Drafting new accounting policies and procedures and reviewing existing policies periodically for any required updates
  • Prepare financial statements per US GAAP  and relevant regulatory requirements
  • Help manage the external audit processes for annual financial statement audits
  • Collaborate with leadership team and overall Finance department in AP, AR/Revenue, FinOps, Payroll, Tax, FP&A
  • Oversee monthly/quarterly close-related activities, including journal entry, balance sheet, and P&L reviews, as well as execute the day-to-day bookkeeping, AP, and cash flow needs
    • Create and review journal entries in the GL along with excellent supporting schedules during the month related to daily activities and month-end close
  • Train accountants and senior accountants on various accounting concepts and best practices

What You’ll Need

  • 8-10 years of progressive experience in Accounting Operations, Policy, and Financial Statements with FinTechs or large broker-dealers
    • Public accounting experience is a plus
  • CPA certification required
  • Experience with SEC/FINRA reporting, and preparing technical accounting memos
  • Knowledge of capital market product offerings (Equities, Fixed Income, Options)
  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or commensurate experience
  • Strong accounting knowledge, with proven US GAAP and internal controls experience
  • Experience in large ERP accounting software migration (Netsuite is a plus)
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Applicable work experience in a fast-paced environment and willingness to have a diverse set of tasks and responsibilities
  • Series 27 is a plus

CompensationCompensation package offerings are based on candidate experience and technical qualifications, as it relates to the role. These are identified and determined throughout your interviewing experience.Please note: this role is expected to come into our office on a cadence set by the Hiring Manager/Team.
