Gopuff is changing the world of instant commerce and is seeking a growth-minded Controller who will be responsible for all accounting matters related to the BevMo! business unit. BevMo! Is the number one specialty beverage retailer on the West Coast. You’ll find 160+ BevMo! stores located throughout California, Arizona, and Washington.
This role will report directly to the VP of Retail Finance and will be a key member of the leadership team. The person in this highly visible role will be a hands-on, detail-oriented leader who is a trusted partner across a diverse set of stakeholders in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
You Will:
Lead an accounting team and own all aspects of accounting operations and financial reporting, including month-end close, quarterly reviews, and annual audits.
Serve as the primary accounting liaison between BevMo! and its parent company Gopuff, which is responsible for preparing consolidated financial statements.
Represent Accounting to BevMo! business partners (both internal and external).
Plan and execute growth strategies in the accounting function
Streamline accounting functions and operations.
Monitor internal controls and oversee improvement to processes, policies, and procedures, especially during times of rapid expansion and changes in the business.
Manage external relationships with banks and auditors
Support the annual operating plan and quarterly forecast processes
Drive improvements to the timing and accuracy of the monthly close (e.g. accruals, prepaids, account reconciliations, fixed assets, revenue/order to cash, inventory, consolidations).
Partner with key individuals in Finance (e.g. FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Investor Reporting) and across functions (supply chain, operations, merchandising, tech, and engineering) to support key business initiatives.
Improve the reporting of inventory and related processes (product margin analysis, inventory roll forward, inventory reserves).
Ensure consistent implementation of corporate accounting principles and procedures in full compliance with U.S. GAAP. You Have:
10+ years of relevant controllership experience (preferably in retail, ecommerce, CPG companies)
CPA license preferred
Experience with internal controls, compliance framework, and systems implementations.
Proven track record of building strong teams and leading/influencing others through highly cross-functional projects.
Strong technical accounting background with a thorough knowledge of applicable requirements (e.g. U.S. GAAP, SOX, SEC reporting).
Excellent project management and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience with Oracle Cloud / FCCS, FloQast, Coupa, Costar is preferred.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Proven ability to successfully prioritize and manage projects to strict timelines, and organize/track key deliverables. Compensation:
Gopuff pays employees based on market pricing and pay may vary depending on your location. The salary range below reflects what we’d reasonably expect to pay candidates. A candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
