Position Summary

We are seeking a Junior Designer to join our marketing team. As the Junior Designer, you'll report to and collaborate closely with our Senior Visual Designer, contributing to the development of impactful marketing and brand materials. Whether you're a recent graduate or pivoting to a design role and looking for a start in a collaborative, fast-paced, and forward-thinking environment, this role is your entry into the world of ecommerce design.

How you'll create impact:

Product Knowledge and Representation - Immerse yourself in ongoing Okendo product training to gain a deep understanding of our offerings and effectively represent them in design materials.

Brand Aesthetics and Innovation - Grasp the current brand design aesthetic and guidelines, actively seeking opportunities to enhance and broaden our visual communications.

Creation of Marketing Collateral - Work alongside the Senior Visual Designer in crafting various marketing collateral, including blog visuals, email campaigns, presentations, webinar graphics, social media assets, and occasional motion graphics/videos.

Cross-Functional Collaboration - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design consistency across the entire company.

Design Tool Proficiency - Utilize Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite to translate design concepts into visually stunning creations.

Feedback Incorporation - Actively incorporate feedback from the Senior Visual Designer and other team members to refine and enhance your designs.

Detail-Oriented Project Management - Prioritize attention to detail and apply creative problem-solving across various channels and target audiences. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, understanding expectations, meeting deadlines, and maintaining an organized workflow.

What we need from you:

Educational Background: Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.

Portfolio Showcase: Demonstrate your design skills and creativity through a comprehensive portfolio.

Design Tools: Proficient in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.

Design Principles: Strong understanding of design principles.

Video/Motion Graphics: Some experience with video/motion graphics is a plus.

Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts to cross-functional audiences.

Collaborative Mindset: Embrace a collaborative mindset and exhibit a positive team-player attitude.

Continuous Learning: Demonstrate a willingness and desire to learn and refine both design and technical skills.

HTML Familiarity: Familiarity with HTML is an advantageous skill.
