Zoox Quality Systems Engineer will report to the Manager, Quality Systems and have the final goal to support the development of business processes to ensure that Zoox’s products and services provide a high level of quality that meets the defined standards and specifications and in the end, the customer expectations.

You will be responsible for defining and deploying critical processes such as Change Management, Configuration Management, Document Control System, Control of Nonconforming Products, Corrective and Preventive Actions, Rework Review Boards, and Temporary Deviation activities for hardware and software. The Quality Systems Engineer will also support internal quality audits and provide recommendations for continuous process improvements. The candidate will interact with many different departments for cross-functional collaboration and communication.

You will play a fundamental role in supporting the setting up of procedures instructions, and processes that will allow Zoox to align with the international standards for Quality Systems (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and similar).

In this role you will:

  • Lead development of Quality Systems across Zoox and communicate progress to leadership
  • Establish and support the link between Quality processes and Zoox systems such as SAP/ EQMS/ MES/ Jira / 3DX/ etc.
  • Manage integration and timeline to establish a functional link between above processes
  • Lead root cause analysis activities and corrective action implementation
  • Support process improvement activities and Quality System implementation
  • Responsible for creating and reporting metrics to demonstrate quality status in NPI, manufacturing, and services
  • Qualifications

  • BS in mechanical, electrical, or electronics required with at least 5 years of experience in the manufacturing environment (automotive, semiconductor, or aerospace fields are preferred).
  • Strong experience in implementing standard quality tools (FMEA, Control Plan, 8D, PPAP, MSA, SPC, CAPA, etc.)
  • Experience in Project Management, Statistical Analysis, and implementing quality processes into ERP/MES/QMS systems
  • Able to lead independent activities such as root cause analysis, process improvement, etc., and adapt in a fast-changing dynamic environment
  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, negotiation, interpersonal, decision-making, oral and written communication skills
  • Bonus Qualifications

  • Certification as lead auditor and/or previous ISO/ IATF/ AS experience preferred
  • Previous experience in software systems
  • Industry background and/or experience in; automotive, software, contract manufacturing, customer management

    Compensation

    There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $113,000 to $184,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
