Account Director, Retail

📋 Description

• Own and grow strategic retail accounts: pipeline, revenue, adoption, expansion.
• Develop account strategies aligning OpenAI capabilities with customer priorities and AI roadmap.
• Build trusted relationships with senior executives across technology, digital, data, merchandising, marketing, ecommerce, ops, supply chain, finance, and customer experience.
• Help customers identify high-value AI use cases including customer service, personalization, merchandising, product discovery, and store operations.
• Lead complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles from discovery through deployment and expansion.
• Create opportunities by engaging executive decision-makers and operational teams across organizations.

🎯 Requirements

• Significant experience selling enterprise technology, cloud, data, AI, or software to large retail/consumer organizations.
• Strong understanding of retail priorities and operating models (omnichannel, ecommerce, grocery, consumer brands).
• Proven track record meeting or exceeding revenue targets with complex accounts.
• Ability to build relationships with C-level executives and technical stakeholders.
• Comfort translating technology into tangible business outcomes; able to simplify complex concepts.
• Experience creating demand and developing new opportunities beyond an existing book.
• Familiarity with long, multi-stakeholder sales cycles involving security, legal, procurement, finance, data, and technology.
• Willingness to discuss enterprise architecture, data strategy, security, governance, and implementation readiness.
