Actuator Electromagnetic Design Engineer

📋 Description

• Lead architecture, design, and integration of custom robotic actuators
• Design, simulate, integrate and source electromagnetic components
• Define requirements and trade studies: torque, bandwidth, thermal, cost
• Develop precision electromechanical assemblies with tolerances and thermal considerations
• Drive actuator integration with controls and software teams for closed-loop performance
• Build and validate prototypes; develop test methodologies for reliability and durability

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or related field
• 5+ years designing electromagnetic systems, robotic actuators, or precision hardware
• Strong understanding of motors, transmissions, encoders, and thermal management
• Experience with actuator sensing architectures and encoder calibration
• CAD/PLM proficiency (NX, Teamcenter or equivalent)
• Experience moving designs from prototype to production (DFM, DFA, DFT)
