Aerostructures Design Engineer II (R5157)

📋 Description

• Design and develop structural components and assemblies for Shield AI’s next-generation UAV
• Execute design lifecycle from conceptual development to drawing release.
• Perform hand calculations for stress/strain with limited basic FEA guidance.
• Collaborate with aerodynamics, propulsion, avionics, payload, and manufacturing teams for system
• Support structural validation including coupon subcomponent and system-level testing.
• Generate design documentation, drawings, interface definitions, and analysis reports per aerospace

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of aircraft structural design experience.
• Experience designing/releasing structural components in development or production.
• Knowledge of composite and metallic structures, fasteners, bonded joints, load paths.
• Proficiency in CAD tools (NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar).
• Understanding of GD&T, tolerance stackups, and DFMA principles.
