Application Security Engineer

📋 Description

• Support application security assessment and vulnerability management across USCIS systems and
• Collaborate with development, security, platform, and operations teams to identify risks and drive
• Develop proof-of-concept references and utility apps demonstrating secure patterns and DevSecOps
• Contribute to secure reference implementations and automation within the software lifecycle.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years IT experience plus 4 years in application security, DevSecOps, or related fields.
• Advanced knowledge of application security technologies, SAST/DAST, and secure SDLC practices.
• Experience integrating security into CI/CD pipelines and performing vulnerability management.
• Strong ability to guide secure coding and remediation for development teams.
• Experience with tools like SonarQube, Nexus IQ, Checkmarx, Twistlock; familiarity with Kubernetes
