Automation and Controls Engineer, AI Satellites (Starmind)

📋 Description

• Design, build, and operate automation for Starmind hardware and on-orbit compute
• Oversee manufacturing line for flight computers, power, memory, and networking
• Develop factory automation, from ideation to FCC hand-off to operations
• Lead PLC code development for high-volume manufacturing
• Ensure safety and reliability in harsh space environments
• Collaborate cross-functionally to meet processing workloads and domain sizes

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or computer science
• 1+ years in industrial/factory automation design or electro-mechanical systems
• Strong electrical/electromechanical design and troubleshooting skills
• Proficient in electrical schematics, single-line diagrams (EPLAN preferred)
• Experience with field bus, Ethernet, and PLCs; safety-critical systems a plus
• Beckhoff TwinCAT programming and safety PLCs a plus
