Billing Associate (AR & Denials)

📋 Description

• Identify and manage outstanding claims using customer systems, internal platforms, and worklists.
• Follow up on accounts receivable by checking claim status and navigating payer portals.
• Investigate and resolve claim denials, including appeals and resubmissions.
• Document claim activity, follow-ups, outcomes, and next steps clearly in systems.
• Support AR tasks as backup to AI-driven workflows when needed.
• Contribute to process improvements and escalate issues as appropriate.

🎯 Requirements

• 1–3 years of professional experience in medical billing or AR follow-up.
• Strong understanding of AR scenarios: status checks, denials, appeals, and follow-up.
• Experience with NextGen, ModMed, Athenahealth, or similar PMS.
• Comfort communicating with insurance representatives and navigating portals/IVRs.
• Attention to detail, organization, documentation, and follow-through.
• Ability to investigate issues and persistently resolve claims.
