Build Specialist, Barrel Production (Starship)

📋 Description

• Lead data-driven root cause analysis on complex equipment failures and quality defects
• Own engineering escalations end-to-end; coordinate with design/manufacturing/build reliability
• Drive waste reduction and line efficiency on barrel lines; optimize workflow and material flow
• Troubleshoot equipment and tooling issues; manage model/tooling changes
• Perform quality inspections and mentor technicians on standards and best practices
• Support assembly process updates and cross-shift coordination

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years in hands-on manufacturing or 2+ years in aerospace/manufacturing environment
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, math, or science
• Strong root-cause ownership; experience with 5 Whys, A3, 8D, etc.
• Hands-on Lean tools experience (5S, Kanban, value-stream thinking, PFMEA, poka-yoke)
• Strong data analysis skills (Excel, VBA, SQL) for downtime and efficiency metrics
• Experience with automated laser welding / laser cutting
