📋 Description

• Lead engineering, data, security, and enterprise tech for GiveDirectly.
• Build and guide a technology stack to enable $5B+/year operations.
• Recruit and grow a 15→30 person engineering/tech organization.
• Define technical vision, strategy, and architecture across multiple workstreams.
• Ensure reliability, security, and data governance across high-stakes financial delivery.
• Collaborate with CEO, product, finance, risk, and country leaders; travel 4–6 times/year.

• Deep technical judgment: architecture evaluation, build-vs-buy, and critical design decisions.
• Business acumen with ability to navigate ambiguity and make cross-functional tradeoffs.
• AI-first mindset; ability to set tools, guardrails, and culture to leverage AI responsibly.
• Alignment with GiveDirectly values and ability to lead across organizational boundaries.
• Experience in regulated/complex domains (fintech, payments, humanitarian aid) is a plus.
