Claim Specialist III

📋 Description

• Investigates, evaluates, negotiates, and resolves lost time claims within authority limits.
• Travel as needed to handle claims inventory.
• Mentors less experienced staff and coordinates with defense counsel on litigated cases.
• Maintains contact with insureds, injured workers, agents, and underwriters to determine coverage
• Manages claims files, reserves, and compliance with state/federal requirements.
• Participates in training and stays current on medical terminology and workers’ compensation rules.

🎯 Requirements

• Three years of workers’ compensation lost time and medical claim handling experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Computer skills including Word, Excel, and Image Right preferred.
• Valid driver’s license; strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with multiple priorities and collaborate with teams.
• Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to worker’s compensation and related claims.
