Deputy Fleet Manager

📋 Description

• Support worldwide fleet coordination to maintain vessel availability
• Oversee vessel maintenance and condition; ensure technical/class compliance
• Act as owner's representative, onboard; safeguard owner's interests
• Drive in-house fleet steering, reducing reliance on external providers
• Apply and enforce shipping processes and tools across fleet
• Provide superintendent-level technical support to vessels across hubs
• Coordinate with external providers while strengthening internal control
• Improve fleet management through operational best practices

🎯 Requirements

• Significant shipping industry experience in technical or operational fleet roles
• Seagoing/onboard experience is indispensable
• Solid understanding of fleet operations and the owner model
• Strong command of shipping processes and operational tools
• High operational autonomy and ability to make sound decisions
• Demonstrated ability to represent the owner in technical and operational matters
• Comfortable operating in a fully international environment
• Fluent English is mandatory
• Background as a former Technical Superintendent
• Background as a former Chief Engineer or engine officer
• Engine-room experience or a career path through technical onboard functions
• Experience as Assistant to the Master / Chief Officer (second)
• A career path that has moved from sea-going roles to shore-based fleet coordination
• Familiarity with multi-port, multi-hub fleet operations
