Engineering Manager, Mission Mechanical

📋 Description

• Lead a team of mechanical engineers to tailor Muon's spacecraft platforms for specific missions.
• Split time between people leadership and hands-on design work; manage design reviews, drawings, and
• Own mechanical deliverables from requirements through build, integration, and environmental test.
• Collaborate with mission/formulation, avionics, systems, thermal, structural, and production teams
• Set and uphold engineering standards, risk posture alignment, and test readiness for campaigns.
• Hybrid work on-site in San Jose, CA three days per week.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years designing complex, integrated systems in harsh environments (spacecraft or similar).
• 2+ years leading engineering teams.
• Proficiency in CAD for large assemblies (SolidWorks preferred).
• Strong drawings, GD&T, BOMs, FAIs, tolerances, mass budgets; ECO/DCO processes.
• Experience with structural/thermal analysis and applying results to design.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills; BS or higher in Mechanical
