Firmware Simulation Engineer

📋 Description

• Develop high-fidelity virtual platforms to abstract hardware for SSD firmware development
• Build and maintain firmware simulation environments (e.g., QEMU) to enable shift-left testing
• Create accurate hardware models for controller logic, PCIe/NVMe interfaces, and NAND behavior
• Instrument and profile performance, analyze failures within simulated environments
• Automate CI/CD to integrate simulations into firmware release and validation
• Collaborate with ASIC vendors to validate firmware against RTL before silicon

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years building and scaling high-fidelity simulation software for embedded/hardware systems
• Expert-level C/C++ and Python for firmware/modeling
• Experience with simulation tools (QEMU, SystemC, TLM, ISA simulators)
• Deep firmware-hardware interaction understanding; translate schematics to abstract models
• Strong knowledge of PCIe and NVMe storage protocols
• Experience with embedded software, SoC bring-up, and RTOS
