📋 Description

• Develop and execute California state and local government affairs strategy.
• Build bipartisan relationships with legislators, agency staff, and community partners.
• Monitor and communicate California policy developments affecting OpenAI.
• Represent OpenAI in meetings, forums, coalitions, and events.
• Support advocacy on AI policy, safety, education, and workforce development.
• Create community partnerships and educational programs across California.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in public policy or government affairs.
• Understand California state and local political environment.
• Build trusted relationships with policymakers and community leaders.
• Excellent writer and communicator for varied audiences.
• Able to manage projects independently and collaborate across teams.
• Willing to travel regularly within California and to other states.
