Intermediate Software Engineer

📋 Description

• Role in GitLab's Security section to design and develop the data layer for vulnerability and
• Ingest, store, index, and query security report data with PostgreSQL emphasis
• Hands-on with Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL; explore Go or Rust for newer services
• Collaborate with teams; contribute to third-party security integrations
• Participate in design discussions and code reviews, raise constraints early
• Deliver iteratively within GitLab's monthly release cycle

🎯 Requirements

• Backend engineering experience shipping features to production
• Strong PostgreSQL knowledge: indexes, query plans, schema design
• Experience with Ruby on Rails, Go, or Python; comfortable with Rails day-to-day
• Ability to work remotely/asynchronously across time zones
• Interest in security domain; vulnerability/dependency management or security tooling helpful
• Fluency with AI tools to improve delivery and learning while applying judgment
