Lead Legal Counsel, Employment (EMEA)

📋 Description

• Provide senior, practical employment-law advice to GitLab teams across the organization.
• Advise on recruitment, onboarding, compensation, performance, leave, and separations across
• Counsel People Partners and business leaders on complex employee-relations matters.
• Draft and review employment agreements, policies, and related documentation across jurisdictions.
• Monitor changes in employment, privacy laws (GDPR), and translate into actionable guidance.

🎯 Requirements

• Extensive experience advising a multinational with works councils across regions on employment
• JD/LLB or local equivalent with admission to a governing body in an EMEA jurisdiction.
• Deep knowledge of EMEA employment compliance and when to involve local counsel.
• Experience drafting policies, agreements, and templates across multiple jurisdictions.
• Familiarity with GDPR and local privacy requirements related to team-member data.
• Ability to manage disputes, investigations, and outside-counsel matters; strong risk assessment and
