Lead Software Engineer, Backend - Service Mesh

📋 Description

• Define multi-year tech strategy for the service mesh platform
• Architect/review mesh infra (Istio/Envoy) for reliability and security
• Lead traffic management, service discovery, mTLS, observability, rate limiting
• Set engineering standards: code quality, reviews, testing, on-call
• Lead architecture decisions across teams for the mesh platform
• Drive AI-assisted engineering tools adoption and velocity

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/engineering or equivalent
• 6+ years in software engineering; 3+ in distributed systems
• Deep expertise with Istio/Envoy/Linkerd/mesh; production scale
• Experience with microservices networking: HTTP, gRPC, TLS/mTLS
• Leadership in designing/delivering cross-team platform projects
• Go (preferred) or Java/Python
