Legacy Support Engineer

📋 Description

• Provide daily operational support for legacy mainframe applications and databases (IDMS, DL/I, DB2
• Administer, troubleshoot, and optimize IDMS databases, backups, recovery, upgrades, and patches.
• Support Db2 z/OS environments, including SQL activities and core DBA tasks.
• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues with minimal downtime.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for patches, migrations, and system enhancements.
• Occasional off-hours support for production emergencies and maintenance.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, IS, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years in production support for legacy/mainframe systems.
• Strong hands-on mainframe experience; IDMS expertise (schema/subschema, backup/recovery, tuning).
• Experience with Db2 z/OS, SQL, and mainframe DBA fundamentals.
• Familiarity with JCL, job scheduling, and Control-M is preferred.
• Remote work capability and ability to operate independently in a distributed team.
