Mainframe Migration Engineer

📋 Description

• Analyze and migrate legacy mainframe workloads from IBM z/OS environments to Azure/cloud-native
• Transform JCL-based batch processes for modernization and rehosting projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align migration strategies with standards.
• Automate nightly/weekly/monthly batch jobs and monitor performance.
• Improve batch job concurrency, thread safety, and efficiency.
• Convert JCL scripts to PowerShell for Azure-based execution.

🎯 Requirements

• Expert in Mainframe JCL and mainframe batch job concepts (GDG, PDS).
• Strong experience with Control-M, CICS, and mainframe environments.
• PowerShell scripting and automation in Azure; ability to convert JCL to PowerShell.
• Experience with Agile, cross-functional teams, and documentation of requirements.
• Understanding of thread safety, locking, and concurrency in scripting.
• Experience with migration projects (mainframe to cloud preferred).
