Manager of the Technical Staff - Next.js

📋 Description

• Build and ship Next.js; contribute directly to the framework and supporting systems.
• Lead major technical initiatives from exploration to production.
• Set technical direction across rendering, caching, routing, and tooling.
• Stay close to real problems; investigate performance issues and user pain points.
• Raise the engineering bar with patterns for quality, testing, and observability.
• Coach engineers through reviews, pairing, and shared ownership of tough problems.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Led engineers or small technical teams (team lead, tech lead, staff, etc.).
• Recent experience writing, reviewing, and shipping production code.
• Strong technical judgment across React, framework architecture, and large-scale systems.
• Ability to form a clear POV and bring others along; leadership from the front when needed.
• Experience building products/infrastructure for developers and understanding quality, performance
