Manager, Software Engineering

📋 Description

• Lead and grow a software engineering team for Backblaze cloud services.
• Own the full SDLC from planning to post-launch support.
• Drive feature development and infra improvements for AI workloads.
• Ensure reliability and maintainability of cloud service components.
• Participate in code reviews and architecture decisions.
• Partner with Product to shape roadmaps and translate priorities into plans.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of engineering management experience leading software teams, ideally in cloud infrastructure, SaaS, or platform.
• Demonstrated experience leading distributed, remote engineering teams across time zones with async communication.
• Strong software engineering background with system architecture expertise and hands-on design discussions.
• Full SDLC experience from requirements through design, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Track record delivering features and platform improvements on time with high quality.
• Experience partnering with Product Management to refine roadmaps and translate priorities into executable plans.
• Familiarity with AI agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor) is a plus.
