Manager, Software Engineering

📋 Description

• Lead and grow a software engineering team for Backblaze cloud services.
• Own the SDLC from planning to post-launch support with QA collaboration.
• Drive features and infra improvements for developers, enterprises, and AI workloads.
• Ensure reliability and maintainability of cloud components through fixes and tech debt control.
• Participate hands-on in code reviews, architecture decisions, and problem-solving.
• Partner with Product to shape roadmaps and translate priorities into plans.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of engineering management leading software teams in cloud infrastructure or SaaS.
• Experience managing distributed remote teams across time zones with async practices.
• Strong software engineering background with system architecture expertise.
• Full SDLC ownership from requirements to production support.
• Track record delivering features and platform improvements on time with quality.
• Familiarity with AI agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor) is a plus.
