Managing Staff Engineer

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and verify robotic surgical instruments and interfaces
• Design components for machining and injection molding
• Own complex assemblies and coordinate with hardware/software teams
• Develop test methods, fixtures, and measurement tools
• Hands-on assembly/testing for proof of concept, development, pre-clinical, and V&V
• Apply DFX: design for manufacturing, usability, reliability

🎯 Requirements

• BS/MS in Mechanical Eng, Materials Science, or related field; or equivalent experience
• Minimum 8 years in medical device development; experience with flexible devices a plus
• Strong mechanical intuition and root-cause problem solving from first principles
• Expertise in machining and injection molding for medical devices; other methods a plus
• Tolerance analysis and GD&T; DoEs and statistical analysis a strong plus
• CAD proficiency; SolidWorks preferred; PLM/documentation experience
