Mechanical Engineer II, Solar & Deployables

📋 Description

• Design components and assemblies for solar arrays and deployables
• Release docs: drawings, GD&T, BOMs, tolerances
• Prototype, test, and prove hardware concepts
• Support qualification tests and environmental testing
• Perform first-order sizing calcs and FEAs with analysts
• Design test fixtures and tooling for repeatable builds

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in mechanical hardware design/build/testing
• Strong CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
• Solid drawings, GD&T, BOMs, tolerances experience
• Hands-on prototyping and hardware testing bias
• Fabrication methods: machining, sheet metal, composites, or additive
• Excellent communication and teamwork in fast-paced env
