Mechanical Engineer II, Spacecraft Structures & Missions

📋 Description

• Own the mechanical execution of an assigned mission end-to-end.
• Tailor platform components to mission needs and design new payload accommodations.
• Manage spacecraft-level assemblies in SolidWorks with envelopes, interfaces, and configuration
• Size structures and thermal aspects with teams for detailed analysis.
• Produce/release drawings, GD&T, BOMs, tolerances, and mass budgets.
• Support environmental tests and spacecraft integration with production teams.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years designing, building, and testing mechanical hardware for complex systems.
• Experience taking hardware from concept through build and test.
• Structural analysis fundamentals: hand calculations, margin, and familiarity with FEA.
• CAD proficiency for medium-to-large assemblies (SolidWorks preferred).
• Strong drawings, GD&T, BOMs, and mass-tolerance budgeting skills.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination.
