  • Write and maintain kernel-level drivers for actuators, motor controllers, and sensors across robot
  • Build and own board support packages for compute platforms (Jetson-class and beyond) including
  • Integrate sensor vendor firmware, evaluate bugs, negotiate fixes with vendors, and wrap interfaces
  • Own bus-level communication (CAN/CAN-FD, EtherCAT, UART/RS-485, SPI, I²C, Ethernet, USB) with
  • Maintain custom kernel builds with real-time requirements (PREEMPT_RT-class).

🎯 Requirements

  • 5+ years of embedded systems design and development in production.
  • Wrote kernel-level device drivers for real-time peripherals and shipped them.
  • Real-time reasoning: latency budgets, scheduling, bounded queues, deadline handling.
  • Deep bus/driver experience across CAN, UART, SPI/I²C, Ethernet, USB.
  • Custom kernel experience: configured, patched, and built Linux kernels for embedded targets.
  • Built BSPs with device trees, bootloaders, Yocto/Buildroot pipelines.
