Network Operations Engineer, Network Activation

📋 Description

• Own Layer 1 activation for carrier circuits, dark fiber, wavelengths, and Ethernet handoffs.
• Reconcile A-side/Z-side as-builts: circuit IDs, LOAs/CFAs, demarcations.
• Investigate no-light/low-light, wrong-port, and link-flap issues across CSPs.
• Guide remote hands and technicians through inspection, VFL, optical power, and loopback tests.
• Verify service acceptance on both sides: circuit, port, state, optics, and handoff readiness.
• Own tickets and escalation; drive follow-ups and evidence-based resolution.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years in network operations, carrier activation, data-center deployment, or related infra.
• Ability to trace end-to-end circuits across cross-connects and ports.
• Troubleshoot optical faults with inspection tools, power meters, VFL/OTDR, DOM/DDM, and interfaces.
• Understand single/multimode fiber, LC/MPO/MTP connectors, duplex polarity, TX/RX paths, and 100G/400G/800G optics.
• Experience with carriers, colocation, remote hands, AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, or Google Cloud Interconnect.
• Build automation with scripts and APIs; translate LLM-driven analysis into technician-ready actions.
