Patient Financial Counselor

📋 Description

• Educate patients on payment options and assistance programs
• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for financial screening
• Communicate with patients and insurers by phone and fax
• Coordinate with clinics and teams to align financial and clinical needs
• Verify accounts are complete and ready for billing
• Negotiate and establish payment arrangements per policy

🎯 Requirements

• Less than 1 year of related experience
• Effective written and spoken communication with patients and providers
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• General HIPAA/healthcare financial process knowledge
• Familiarity with ICD-9/10, HCPCS/CPT and terminology
• FDCPA and collection regulations knowledge is beneficial
