Principal Research Scientist I - Process Engineering

📋 Description

• Lead drug product manufacturing process early phase development for synthetic molecule candidates
• Collaborate with development CMC teams to align with intended commercial sites
• Mentor peers and influence senior leadership with expert insights
• Advance technologies that expand AbbVie's small molecule formulation capabilities
• Partner cross-functionally to support drug discovery and development programs
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards

🎯 Requirements

• BS (+14 yr experience) MS (+12 yr. experience) or PhD (+6 yr experience) in Chemical Engineering or
• Strong project leadership in drug product development
• Deep understanding of manufacturing platforms: direct compression, wet & dry granulation, hot
• Experience with tableting, encapsulation and film coating
• Strong knowledge of powder material properties and impact on manufacturability
• Ability to apply models to optimize development and scale-up to pilot plant
